Lesson for 2022

This year, I lost six friends – five of whom were also clients.  Each leaves a hole in my life, and I miss them already.  Depressed by the crushing grind  of the pandemic, I miss them even more.

A few months ago, we went to the SPCA and adopted a blind rescue cat, who was only days away from being euthanized.  Despite his inability to see, he is a loving cat that tries to behave like a normal cat, but he often runs into objects . . . sometimes hard!  Each time, he shakes it off and resumes playing.  He is the picture of resilience.

Of course, the loss of a friend is far more painful than running into a wall, but nobody wants their loved ones to wallow in sorrow.  They want their loved ones to be resilient and move on.

While there is no one “right” way to grieve, there is only one way to become resilient — take it one-day-at-a-time . . .
