When do good intentions go bad?

Anybody who has ever visited Stonehenge in England has experienced a sense of wonder – how did such large stones/rocks get carved and especially how did they get moved so far by such primitive peoples? What is the architectural significance? Why circular? What religious/cultural significance does it hold? Why no written record of the people/artisans?

I’m confident that none of that mattered to the barbarians who spray-painted (albeit temporarily) one of world’s great historical sites this week. While their intentions were good – stop carbon emissions – their cause was cheapened by their disrespect for anything not environmentally-correct.

While the appropriate punishment might be a good pistol-whipping for the perpetrators, I would prefer to simply tattoo the word “LOSER” . . . on their foreheads.
