Nerdfest

Anybody who have ever been to Jackson, Wyoming, has fallen in love with it — truly a remarkable place for lovers of nature.  It’s also a remarkable place for nerds.  In fact, the Federal Reserve System holds their annual Economic Symposium there in late August of every year, and it is jokingly referred to as The Nerdfest.  I suspect all the attendees still have their first slide rule?  Don’t you?

It is being held Thursday and Friday of this week  It includes central bankers from around the world, major academics, some commercial bankers, and the financial media.  The highlight is always the Friday speech by the head of the Fed — Jerry Powell this year.  If you only listen to one speech each year, I recommend this one.  It is being carried on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/KansasCityFed at 10:00 ET.

Be there, Nerd!
