During the last Presidential Administration, Republicans definitely suffered from “Obama Derangement Syndrome.” Showing stupidity knows no labels, Democrats are now suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Just as two wrongs don’t make a right, two stupid attitudes don’t make any sense.
Based on an ambiguous 1973 memo, it has been assumed that a sitting President could not be indicted, but that is now being challenged. Democrats are searching for an intellectual justification and a legal basis to indict our President. After all, nothing in the Constitution gives immunity to the President.
While I agree wholeheartedly with the President’s Acting Chief of Staff that “Donald Trump is a terrible person,” indicting this President would create a terrible precedent. Lawyers have long giggled that a grand jury would indict a “ham sandwich,” and there will certainly be some publicity-seeking Republican prosecutor out there, who will immediately secure an indictment against the next Democratic president. Don’t do it!
He should be removed from office the same way he got in — at the ballot box.
