Thank You, CNN!

I’m reluctant to say anything positive about CNN. It annoys my Republican friends and confuses my Democratic friends, but I appreciated the CNN production of “The Fourth in America” which just presented music and fireworks from across the nation with absolutely no political bias.

Like the V-8 commercials . . . thanks, I needed that!

Confession is good for the soul, and I confess to being a bit “down” recently, particularly about the “mass killing of the day program” in this country. (Whatever happened to Baskin-Robbins flavor of the day ice cream?) Democrats blame it on too many guns. Republicans blame it on too many crazy people. Of course, neither can do more than chew gum and ignore both problems.

Plus, there has never been a day in my life when there was lasting peace in Middle East and suspect that will still be true when I die.

Did I mention my rising concern about sea level rise? (Truth-in-blogging: I live on a beach.)

So it was refreshing to watch fireworks while listening to “God Bless the USA” and “America the Beautiful” and “This Land Is Your Land” and “American Heart” and “Born In The USA” and “The Star-Spangled Banner” and of course “America”.

CNN may not be perfect, but that show was . . .!
